Super weekend at Sunny Snetterton
The Langford Line Motorsport Race Team travelled down to Norfolk for the penultimate round of the Monoposto Formula 3 Championship.
After a successful Friday test day driving round the almost 3 mile long Snetterton 300 circuit the team were confident going into qualifying following a Saturday morning practice session where driver George Line had topped the timing sheet.
However a problem with the brakes hampered the Team’s chances of claiming a 4th pole of the season, ending up 2nd on the grid with a lot of work to do on their Dallara F308 Formula 3 car and not much time in between qualifying and the first race of the weekend.
A great effort from all the boys and girls ensured the car was all fixed and fully prepared for the race, which after a good start and close battle George won.
The evening was spent at the track with the Monoposto Racing Club hosting their annual BBQ and Team member Paige Jordan even entering in the baking Grand Prix competition. With a delicious Victoria Sponge decorated with the Snetterton Track Layout, complete with an icing podium and branded race Team Trucks!
Sunday saw two more races which after some close racing including a last lap, last corner scare with George leading and the second place driver going for an ambitious overtake resulting in them spinning out, meant the Langford Line Motorsport Team made it 3 out of 3 wins for the weekend, clinching the Championship title.
A great reward for all the team who worked hard in the sweltering heat, Alex Russell, Callum Kirwan, Josh Oughton, Christian Walker, Ollie Wood, Paige Jordan and Robin Langford.
