Double Delight at Silverstone

Langford Line Motorsport were back in action recently with the opening 2 rounds of the 2025 Monoposto Championship being held at Silverstone.

Using the same garages as the Formula 1 teams, everyone had plenty of space to work on and set up the Dallara F308 Formula 3 car ahead of qualifying. Their efforts paid off as driver George Line qualified on pole position.

Lining up 1st on a packed 44 car grid, the Team were a little nervous given they have had recently installed a brand new clutch plate which George was struggling to optimise.

As they set off for the race, predictably George had a poor start dropping to 2nd but managed to reclaim the lead with a dive down the inside at the tight hairpin. It was just in time as the race was stopped early due to multiple crashes further down the pack.

It was a familiar story for the start of the second race with George losing out, after the opening few laps another incident brought out the safety car. Once the race re started George was putting the pressure on the leader and thanks to a critical tyre pressure decision by the team, the car was only getting faster as the race went on under the hot sun, a tense moment for the team as they watched George overtake, squeezing past against the pit wall.

Eventually taking the chequered flag with another victory and setting the fastest lap of 1.02.080 – Less than 2 seconds away from the overall track record!

The team of motorsport students welcomed a new recruit for this weekend. Josh Oughton from Wolverhampton University who will be gaining valuable trackside race experience with the championship winning team.

Up next on the calendar the Team head to Anglesey were they’ll be hoping to build on the strong start to the season.
