Double Win for Line in Norfolk

A grid full of high-down-force Formula 3 Dallaras, spanning F398 to F311 models, made a sensational sight as a triple-headers opened the Monoposto Racing Club’s 66th championship season in style.

With Mercedes HWA, Mugen-Honda, Renault, TOM’S Toyota, Vauxhall and VW Spiess on parade, plus 3 Moto 1400 Dallaras with Suzki Hayabusa engines and a Tatuus FRenault, quick lappery was assured.

George Line (ex-Carlin F308-VW Spiess) grabbed pole, eight tenths quicker than Tony Bishop in a similarly powered F308/11. Line rocketed clear to outrun all in Saturday’s first race.

Sunday’s first race was red-flagged immediately on the starting grid as a car was collected by a unsighted driver. Both were unhurt but understandably shaken, as marshals set about removing a very badly ravaged car and mopping up a huge pool of oil.

At the restart Line bolted again but when his battery flattened on the Senna Straight, cutting the engine and allowing the field to file past. Line’s 1m08.197s fastest lap was the events best.

Line then dominated the final race to take the win.

George Line from Thurcaston, Leicester, was supported at the Snetterton race meeting by Langford Line Motor Sport, a family team assisted by Motor Sport students from Wolverhampton and Swansea Universities who want to gain track side experience with a competitive team.
